What is WC9?

Share. Grade WC9 is covered by ASTM A217 standard; it’s a good Chromium Molybdenum steel for Sand Casting and Investment Casting purpose. ASTM A217 / A217M – 14 Standard Specification for Steel Castings, Martensitic Stainless and Alloy, for Pressure-Containing Parts, Suitable for High-Temperature Service.

What is WCB valve material?

WCB is cast steel, cast carbon steel. Suitable for large diameter medium and low pressure valve. A105 is forged steel, forged carbon steel, suitable for small-size valves or high pressure valves. Both are used as valve body.

What is A351 material?

The ASTM A351 specification covers austenitic steel castings for valves, flanges, fittings, and other pressure-containing parts. The most common grades are ASTM A351 CF3, CF8 (SS304), and CF8M (SS316).

What is F22 material?

General scope. Grade F22 is a low alloy steel containing nominally 2.25% Chromium. The alloy is widely used in the oil patch wellhead applications for connectors, hangers and block valves. Hardness levels up to 22 HRC are approved to NACE MR0175. The grade is often used as the base metal for clad components.

What is CF8M material?

CF8M is a molybdenum bearing modification of CF8 Austenitic Steel alloy and is the cast equivalent of wrought AISI 316 stainless steel. The presence of molybdenum increases the general corrosion resistance and the resistance to pitting by chlorides.

What is A217 WC6 material?

The specification ASTM A217 includes a low alloy steel group of molybdenum and chromium molybdenum steels. The WC6 material is 1 ¼ chromium ½ molybdenum steel. The ASTM A217 Gr. WC6 Swing Check Valves have swings inside the body and regulate the flow of liquids in one direction.

What is the difference between WCB and WCC material?

WCC & WCB both can be use for same application as far as material is concerned. But WCC has more strength compare to WCB, for eg for similar temperature and pressure applications WCC grade cardon body valve can be used with lesser pound rating as compare to WCB grade carbon body.

Is WCB stainless steel?

Both AISI 304 stainless steel and ASTM A216 grade WCB are iron alloys. They have 71% of their average alloy composition in common.

Is A351 stainless steel?

ASTM A351 Grade CF8M Heat-Treated – Austenitic Stainless Steel – Matmatch.

Is A105 cast or forged?

A105 valve can be forged by plastic deformation to improve the internal structure, good mechanical properties and even grain size. WCB valves by cast liquid forming that can cause tissue segregation and defects and can be used to cast complex workpieces.

Is F22 stainless steel?

1.7380 F22 stainless steel is a low alloy steel containing nominally 2.25% Chromium. This F22 stainless steel is widely used in the oil patch wellhead applications for connectors, hangers and block valves. Hardness levels up to 22 HRC are approved to NACE MR0175.
