Are two guitar speakers louder than one?

Yes, SPL is sound pressure level, which equates with volume, but two amps will not double the dB SPL. The biggest change, though, is from having two speakers, and you’ll get pretty much the same results by doubling the number of speakers. But it will be louder, and noticeably louder.

Can you put speakers next to each other?

Don’t orient the speakers so that they’re completely parallel to each other. While this layout may look good, it won’t let your system sound its best. In most cases, you’ll want to angle the speakers so that they focus towards the listening spot. This way, you can experience the sharpest possible sound.

How far apart should your stereo speakers be?

Speaker separation. Try to get about 4 feet of separation for bookshelf speakers or 8 feet for floorstanding speakers. If your speakers are too close, sounds will blend together and become muddy. What Watter for EVH 4×12?

I have owned both the 4×12 and 2×12 EVH cabs. I used an EVH 5150III 50 watter with them. My personal taste was for the 4×12. It seemed to give me the sound I was after without being harsh on the high end.

Does a 2×12 cab have more volume than a 1×12?

I live in an apartment and am unable to play loud and have read comments that a 2×12 cab will not have more volume than a 1×12 can but yet at the same time will sound fuller at low volumes compared to a 1×12. Planning to run the Eminence c-rex in the cab. Would greatly appreciate any input, thanks.

Is the EVH 5150 III trebly?

I own a 5150 III 50 W and two 2×12 cabs. The G12h30 s are not the best speakers for the amp IMO, even when they have an amazing punch and bottom end, plus a very rich midrange content. But they are trebly speakers. And the EVH amp is trebly. To me, it has a kind of high end sizzle that you can’t remove, even with an external EQ like my MXR 10-Band.

What to do with 2×12’s with presence?

In a 2×12 you can feel a great loss in the bottom end. Oh! And my advice would be that you run the Presence REALLY low, around 9 o’clock, and raise the treble control to manage your high end.
