  • Narration.

The narration is a story about events, incidents or actions. The expressive power of the narration lies primarily in the depiction of events, phenomena, in a visual representation of the actions taking place in time and space. The purpose of the narrative essay is to report about developing events and performed them into chronological order.

While working on this type of essay, the author must answer the following questions: who? what did someone do? Where? When? How?

How to write narration in a proper way

Everyone can write interesting stories by himself just knowing some useful tips. And now we will talk about them to write essays perfectly, but at the same time, one can always use academic writing service for this purpose. The main role in the narrative is played by the verb forms. They provide the unfolding of the narration and clearly represent the alternating actions, the flow of events (phenomena) in time and space. When one writes a narrative, particular preference should be given to the past tense verbs of a perfect form, for example: “I returned home. In the passage, there was a burnt-out candle burning in a wooden plate, and my Cossack slept soundly, holding the gun with both hands ”(M. U. Lermontov). But if we do not talk about one-time, but about repetitive actions, in this case, one should use imperfectly past tense verbs: “According to the news of Constantine, our ancient sovereigns are sent with an army from Kiev to bypass their cities and returned to the capital every year in November” (N. M. Karamzin). Verbs in the imperative form reflect a quick change of events, the suddenness of action. For example, “Get up! Open the door! ”To show the sequence of actions we use such words as first, then, then, then, again, more, already. ..

The narration can be conducted in the first person (in this case the narrator is named or indicated by the pronoun “I” (“we”) or in the 3rd person, the so-called author’s narration (there is no image of the narrator in it).

  1. Entry (place of action).
  2. The beginning of the action, its development.
